Fido & Fashion
Save for the holidays and my recent bout with under-the-weatherness, I've worked pretty much every weekend since last summer. I managed to squeeze in good fun, too, but not so much with the relaxation. This weekend I'm happy to report I will not be working. We'll be entertaining family on the occasion of Mr Cme's grandmother's 90th birthday. So, again not so much with the relaxation, but it will be a lot of fun and surely many good times will be had. And no work. Woo hoo!
Anyway, there's something else I'm looking forward to this weekend. Something we're going to make time to do even if it means staying out past our collective bedtime. We're going to see Fido. Not only did one of our very good and very-very-deserving-of-a-good-time friends co-produce this movie, but it also just looks brilliant. And also? The fashion, people. Just looking at the still photos makes me want to abscond with Carrie-Anne Moss's wardrobe. Look at this photo!
The film is a 1950's period piece zombie comedy. Oh, dear. I can think of few more enticing combinations. Go see it too, eh?
UPDATE: Oops! My friend tells me the movie is opening only in Canada this weekend, and will open in the US in June. So, a good excuse to cross the border for a weekend!

I must see that movie. It looks very entertaining. Thanks for the heads up. Have a great time!
Bummer! Hubby loves a good zombie comedy. Guess he'll have to wait til June since Canada is a little too far from sunny California for a weekend jaunt.
I know! But I do admit I like that we're getting the movie first, instead of the other way around which is how it sometimes goes. Not only that, but this movie has the potential to be one of the most successful Canadian movies ever made. I hope it is! I'll post more about it after we see it.
That movie looks cool! It is coming to Boston for the independent film festival next month- yay!
I hope you love it! I enjoyed it completely. I laughed out loud more than a few times and ended up being more wowed by the physical sets than the costumes (which were still totally amazing). It's a hokey parody that manages not to seem hokey, but clever instead, with a healthy dose of social commentary.
OMG!!!
I am definitely seeing this movie when it comes out here in Berkeley, CA! I can't wait! I lurve me a good zombie movie and this looks hi-larious! :o)
have you seen Shaun of the Dead? the 2 main guys from that movie are in another movie that's supposed to be out soon called Hot Fuzz or something like that. looks pretty funny too!
Thanks for the link to FIDO. i'll spread the word!
and Carrie Ann Moss? omg, lurve the clothes! :o)
Ooh, I loved Shaun of the Dead! I just saw a trailer for their new movie and it looks awesome. In fact, I think I saw the trailer before Fido. :)
