Colorful Crochet Accessories

Sep 9, 2013

Fall is just around the corner, but temperatures here refuse to budge out of the 80s and 90s. Where are the chilly days when you can pull out your favorite jackets and accessorize with the perfect cowl, scarf, or shawl? The newest issue of Interweave Crochet has lots of projects you will want to begin immediately.

The Aspen Infinity Cowl by Linda Permann is the perfect way to add a splash of color to your wardrobe. A simple pattern repeat also makes it the perfect travel pattern. So spoil yourself a little and  work this single skein cowl in a luxurious yarn with the softness and warmth of wool and cashmere, with the sheen created with a touch of silk. I think I need this crochet cowl in a couple of different colors.

An elegant blend between a scarf and a wrap, the Foxglove Wrap by Robyn Chachula is the ideal piece to add a little femininity to your outfit. This lace pattern combines crochet shells and post stitches to create a textured fabric. The pattern repeat makes modification a simple matter of addition or subtraction. Try creating a skinnier scarf or a wide shawl.

Looking for one accessory that will match multiple outfits? Check out the Thistle Cowl by Victoria Hewerdine Thornton. This complex looking colorwork pattern is actually worked in simple stripes. Worked in the round with a simple picot edging, this stunning cowl is ideal for beginning crocheters or a quick handmade gift.

Or go beyond the accessory and crochet the perfect boyfriend cardigan with the Better Than His Sweater by Amy Gunderson. Sinuous post stitches create texture and movement that emphasizes the waist shaping. This will quickly become your favorite cardigan. I love the collar and toggle buttons. The rolled sleeves and tunic length look especially comfortable.

Which project will you begin first? Order the lush Aspen Infinity Cowl Kit in Tobacco Gold, Fall Folliage, or Twilight today and check out more great fall patterns in Interweave Crochet Fall 2013.

Best wishes,

P.S. Leave a comment with which project you would start first.

I finished the Aspen Infinity Cowl in 2 days. It's beautiful and I can't wait for it to get cool enough in Georgia for me to wear it.
