As you have noticed, Crochet Me 3.2 hasn't launched yet. This site revamp is, in many ways, like a home renovation. We're not building from scratch, we're already wondering how we ever could have been happy with the old stuff, and we're running behind schedule. I might think this metaphor is particularly apt because I spent the day painting the bathroom we started renovating in January (don't feel so singled out by my neglect now, do ya?), but whatever.
We are working on it, we'll soon invite a few first-round beta testers to help us break it so we can fix bugs before unleashing the whole shebang, and we really, really appreciate your patience.
So. Clearly lots of stuff has been going on to pull my poor, now-spaghetti-like limbs in every direction. There was TNNA. The photo shoot for the fall Interweave Crochet. The rest of Interweave Crochet. The Crochet Me book went to the printer. I turned 31. The we-live-in-Vancouver-isn't-it-a-lovely-city-thankyouverymuch onslaught of summer visitors is in full swing.
I just got home from the CGOA ChainLink conference where I met and hung out with many, many people I'm so excited to have gotten to know better. And I bought some gorgeous yarn that was raised, processed, spun, and dyed on an entirely solar-powered farm in upstate New York. I'll have to remember to take photos tomorrow. It's destined to become a Doris Chan shawl, or something. Something about it screams for her lace. We all know me well enough not to think I'll actually start this anytime soon, so for now enjoy the dreaming with me, eh?
I'm starting (already) to plan out some major travels this fall, and I have some pretty freaking wicked exciting news to share; maybe tomorrow. We've scheduled the book launch, kids. I'm giddy. It deserves a post of its own. Yeah, I might just go all overcompensating-for-neglecting-the-blog-of-late and write the post immediately after posting this one. Man, I've missed you all.
Oh, speaking of missing you: The Captcha module on the site is misbehaving; if you're about to poke your eyes out in frustration over not being able to leave a comment, I apologize. When we relaunch, the problem will be no more.
Say hi, if you can. I'm looking forward to catching up with you.
