New Tunisian Crochet Technique Videos

Apr 8, 2010

Introduction to Tunisian CrochetTunisian purl stitch, Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian knit stitch, and more. If you haven't tried Tunisian crochet yet, don't wait another week. This fusion of knit and crochet is a fascinating technique.

Interweave Crochet magazine has published a variety of Tunisian patterns, such as the Spice Market Tunic, Aubrey Jacket, and LaMer Scarf (a free download).

As we have learned more about Tunisian crochet, we are finding new ways to share that knowledge with you.

A few people can learn through the written word on a page, but an even better way is to watch the technique.

So we've created nine new Tunisian crochet technique videos. In the videos, I walk you through how to work a Tunisian set-up row, four Tunisian stitch patterns, and a variety of other Tunisian stitches.

Each video allows you to watch as the stitch is worked and follow along as I talk you through the process, offering hints and tips.

Watch the Introduction to Tunisian Crochet video now. Then grab a hook and ball of swatching yarn and check out the rest of the videos. Or jump right in and start a new project.

For those of you working on the Aubrey Jacket from the Winter 2009 issue, the Twisted Tunisian Simple Stitch Rib video will clear up this impressive stitch.

Enjoy! And post pictures of your finished Tunisian crochet projects in the Gallery.

Best wishes,

Hi Toni!

Thank You for a G R E A T video!! :)

I have just started Tunisian crochet and absolutely Love it!!

Through my trials and lots of errors, I really haven't found just the 'right' hook.

Could you please tell me what *Size* and *Brand* hook you're using [maybe a link, too] in the Knit stitch video??

Thanks so much

Happy Hooking! [that's what hubs says about fishing...I take my 'hooks', too]! lol

I have just started Tunisisan because of these vids.

I am loving it. Started a swatch on one of my Crotchet Hooks.

Shouted myself a T hook, don't like it much, the hook isn't BIG enough, but it is a start. I mean to say this is only after one week learning Tunisian.

Looking very forward to a long relationship with this addictive craft.
