The advantage is that you don&amp;#39;t have to know ahead of time how much yarn you&amp;#39;ll need for a long row, AND you don&amp;#39;t have as many ends to weave in (and it takes me forever to thread the needle with yarn). &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The disadvantage is that it &amp;quot;shows&amp;quot; more than the blanket stitch and you have a ridge on the reverse side. &amp;nbsp;I would love to know a trick for using a tapestry needle and yarn -- getting the correct length of yarn, and how to avoid shoulder and arm strain when working on long rows. &lt;/p&gt;
