I think so and think there are many men who don't confess to the craft of crocheting. I'm sorry to hear that guy got a bad taste at that conference.

My husband has recently taken up crocheting. He was raised watching his mother crochet and then grew into a bullrider and then Marine who loves to work with his hands and crochet sometimes fits the bill. His Marine buddies even expressed a yearning to learn how to "hook".

Bring'em on! What could be better than needleworking together with your sweetie during games or NASCAR??? Have him go with you to the yarn shoppe and *like* it!??

If he's also into remodeling, who would be better at figuring how to create or rearrange that yarn space.

If women are working in NASCAR pit crews and doing war combat TV news coverage, men can knit and crochet in my world!

Greg told me that he worked with his Mom on an afghan when he was a teenager. They would take turns each night working the rows. Said it was really cool to do and a great project to do with Mom.

He sits and watches me hooking away every night while he works on his projects (rockets, electronics, computers, work displays, etc) and has even mentioned delving into crochet and knitting again.

I think more guys should give it a try.

I think it is wonderful! In fact after teaching my husband how to crochet, he helps me crochet hats for my business! Also, at one of the stores I crochet for, there is a guy who makes quite a few hats, and I can tell which ones are his. Also, I taught my 14 year old daughter many years ago (she likes to make scarves rather than hats) and recently, both of us taught a roomful of people - two of which were men - and they did GREAT! I am glad that men are confident enough in themselves to give this a shot! I hope this trend continues!
