Art Dolls to Blow Your Mind

amigurumi pixie in the pot 3, by kasetomomaru on Flickr

In case you're feeling a little stuck with your crochet, behold the inspiring work of Japanese crocheter kasetomomaru on Flickr. His work is a great reminder of an unoriginal idea Tom Waits once croaked so eloquently: "Everything you can think of is true."

Wow.  How inspiring.  I am just getting into Amirgurumi and this character stretches the possiblities and makes my elephant look a little dull.

Don't fret, Betty. Your next elephant will surely rule the kingdom of colour and stripes!

This work and all the others I have seen on Flickr by Kasetomomaru, are truly amazing and very inspiring. There are no obvious colour changes or splits in the rows, so I assume that the rounds are done with a closure and then start with a chain for the next row, rather than in a continuous round.  I would dearly love to know how the unusual flower petal bottoms for the fairies are done.  www.flickr.com/.../3512851662

Thank you for posting these which have got me onto a brand new obsession now. I have completed two gorgeous dragons for my niece and nephew, this craft is endless.

Wow! I make amigurumi, but mine are the fun, colorful and cuddly kind.
