So glad to be aboard here at Crochet Me! I'm looking forward to a long and happy friendship both online and in print as editor of Interweave Crochet.
And let me just say: Yes, I do crochet! And I knit and spin and weave and bead. And I like just about anything that involves the use of a glue gun. I like crafty things of all stripes.
Here's my most recent project, born during a recent visit to the home office in Loveland, Colorado. While there, I visited a friend in Boulder. I had not seen him or his wife in a year or so -- in the meantime, they went and had twins! Two sweet hatless boys.
You know what that means.
Yes, I found Boulder's LYS, Shuttles, Spindles & Skeins, and loaded up on needles, yarn and a pattern and made these:
Curiously, one hat is a wee bit smaller than the other (I blame the long plane trip). Conveniently, one baby is a wee bit smaller than the other. To help tell the difference, I crocheted a little "a" and "b" to tie to the little loop at the top:
(ok, so the "a" looks more like a "q" -- the "b" works, yes?)
The little letters are foundation single crochet, slip-stitched into the letter shape, then reinforced with slip stitch all along the letter.
Happily, the babies are named Austin and Brandon, so all that works out. The hats will be winging their way West this week.
I'll be sharing more crafts and news. Stop by, say hi, be a Buddy.
