C is for Crochet

May 12, 2009

A little while ago, I wrote about a couple of baby hats I made especially for twin boys. To help Mom & Dad out, I crocheted their initials and attached them to the wee loops at the top.
Well, those babies keep coming! I made a little hat for a baby girl (same pattern, different colors):

Her name is Carlee. And, even though she doesn't have a twin to cause hat confusion, my daughter requested her initial for the hat. So here it is:

Bring on Desmond, Eli and Fatima. We're ready to crochet more initials!
Do you have a swell way of personalizing your gifts? Do tell us how.
Happy crocheting

Hi Fruitloopgirl!
The hat pattern is by Mountain Colors, designed to be made with their Bearfoot yarn. It's just called "Baby Hat." It's a very engaging pattern with lots of yo's and k2togs. Works up in a flash, even on No. 3 needles (pattern calls for 2s; I liked the 3s). The wee letters I freelanced with foundation single crochet and slip stitches.

Cute hat. Good way to use yarn scraps. BUT....It's knitted! Is there a similiar pattern for crocheters?

Well said dotty, I want to corchet a hat like this, maybe with a floral canvas design, not a knitted one!
