More Moorish Mania

Dec 4, 2009

I'm chugging right along on Lisa Naskrent's Moorish Mosaic Afghan from the Fall 2009 issue of Interweave Crochet.

Look here:

Only four more large motifs to go! I have several small squares motifs to work up, but a road trip this weekend should take care of those.

Have a good weekend—make time to crochet!

That's great progress! I only wish I could work that quickly on anything. Is that the pattern underneath the current motif in progress? Would love a tip on how you keep a pattern handy without struggling constantly with an entire book, leaflet or magazine.

Hi Carla!
Lots of NCIS helped me move this along --that and some airplane travel.
I always photocopy my pattern and cut it down to its essentials. Then I glue it to an index card so it can withstand being dragged around in the project bag. This also allows me to add any notes as I move along. See my first blog on the afghan ( for info on the little cards I made especially for this project. When I'm done, I usually put the card with the notes in a binder in case I want to refer to it later.
It's definitely been a stick-to-it project. The difference in the motif colors makes it really engaging. Try it! You'll like it!
