Creating a fabric identical to knit but with a crochet hook,
the Knook is a fascinating tool from Leisure Arts. Almost two months ago, I
decided to try this innovative technique out for myself. I was impressed.
The resulting fabric did indeed resemble its knitted cousin, and the technique
was easy to pick up. The Knook shares many similarities with Tunisian crochet,
but without the return pass.
For those crafters who don’t like the feeling of working
with two needles but want to play with the possibilities of new fabrics, I’d
recommend picking up the Knook Beginner Set. And like any useful new technique,
the Knook can lay claim to a variety of patterns from scarves to blankets to
hats and beanies, so you will never be without a project.
To promote awareness of this new technique, Leisure Arts is
sponsoring The Knook Now Giveaway which will run from November 28th
through December 19th, 2011. You can visit their Facebook Page or
LeisureArts.com to be entered to win an Apple iPad® 2 or 1 of 20 Knook Beginner
Sets plus copies of all 6 Knook pattern books.
Check out this new crochet tool and watch a quick video with Leslie Segrete, enter to win at Leisure
Arts’ Facebook page, and stop back to tell me what you think of this new
crochet technique. I would love to hear your opinion.
Best wishes,
