I am working on this scarf pattern and am a little confused. When you get to row four and five what does the pattern mean when it talks about inserting the hook into the center of the "V" and not beside it? Can anyone help me? If you have a picture that would be helpful to. Thanks!

Hi jjustjoan,

Yes, you will see what looks like a chain forming up the side. In some yarns this chain is more pronounced than in others. You can see it a little bit in the photos of the next blog in this series here:

I'm working on Betty's Tunisian Tee and I am just now doing the first body block. I am about 5 rows into it & notice that I have a chain stitch forming between the second base triangle and the right hand side of the first body block. Is this correct? The part I'm referring to is the first line of Rows 1-55: "Insert hook from front to back in sc at edge of 2nd base triangle and pull up a loop..." When I "RetP to last 3 lps, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook", it creates a vertical chain stitch. Is this correct? I don't notice this chain in the pictures. Am I doing something wrong?

Nice to see that our small country, Finland, has been noticed in a good way. Just few points from the article: "only" 3800 afghans were spread on the steps, the rest 4000 were stacked up on piles. If all were spread, it would have on eight layers. The plankets were donated to Mother and Child Homes and Shelters afterwards.

In addition to trying to break the record, after the spreading out the blankets and photographing them, the afghans were donated to the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters (www.ensijaturvakotienliitto.fi/in_english) to be warming mothers and children in need.
