COULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT A "MAGIC RING" IS IN CROCHETING?  i AM MAKING HAT THAT TELLS ME TO MAKE A "MAGIC RING".  i HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT TERM BEFORE.

Hi- I just came across your note, and I've tried this before, but I don't think it was called a "magic ring". It is basically starting the center of the hat, by crocheting in a slip knot, then pulling it tight. It makes the center easier to start and neater when pulled tight. So this is weird but a friend let me listen to a rap duo...one was made of solid gold and the other wears a magic blue ring...thats all I remember.

Not who had a better legacy at that point but, who did better in every season from around 1987-90 from an individual standpoint, and do not involve rings.
