Hi!  I am relatively new to crocheting and have come across an instruction in an old rug patter book that I don't really understand what to do.

"With Lt. Yellow ch 26, 3 sc in 2nd st from hook,1sc in each of the next 23 sts of ch, 3 s c in last st, working on other side of ch, 1 s c in each of the next 23 sts. Do not join or turn rounds."

What exactly does it mean where it says to work on the other side of chain?  Work what?

If there is anyone who could explain this to me, I sure would be grateful.

To work the other side of the chain, simply sc in the same hole in the chain that you did the sc on the first side, working back along to the beginning of the chain.

Hope that helps.

Richard.
