I'm becoming involved with this year's local Relay for Life walk and decided to help fundraising efforts by auctioning off an afghan. In order to make less strain on myself, get more of the community involved, and get a larger donation, I am asking all my knit/crochet friends to work up as many 6 inch squares as they can with whatever stitches they want, whatever pattern they want and send them to me so I can sew them together to make a cancer "quilt" for the auction. If you're interested in helping, go ahead and make your squares and ask me for a private message with my mailing address. Spread the word, too. I'm trying to get enough squares together for 2 afghans. I think we can do this!
This sounds like a very worthy idea! I have lots of pre-stitched squares that my crochet club made but did not assemble into a blanket. Would you like these? Let me know where to mail them and they are yours.
