Hello everyone!  I'm new here, as I'm new to crocheting.  I just finished my 1st hat by watching a video on youtube.  I have a couple of local organizations in my town that help the homeless.  I have lots of yarn I picked up really reasonably. I would like to find a very basic, beginners hat or beanie, that I can mass produce for the homeless.  Your suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you!

Hello Debbie - I recently made 2 hats from this pattern from the Bernat yarn site:  http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2176  It's called Softee Chunky - Men's Hat & Scarf Set (crochet).  The hat is warm & it folds so there is 3 layers covering the ears.  I hope this helps!  Good Luck!    Ann

Here is a super easy hat pattern that you could probably finish in a few hours:  http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-a-beanie/

Also, many of the charity websites that ask for hats give hat patterns designed to be quick, easy, and simple.
