Just had to write something about the amazing, inspiring crochet shawl Keira Knightley's character, Penny, is wearing in the movie.  It is completely gorgeous.  I never felt drawn to try anything in freeform crochet before, but I have to admit that I am won over.  See it in the movie trailer here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T43InzvBm-k).

Any ideas on how to recreate this?  Yarn?  Motifs?  Templates?  Patterns?  Interviews with the designer?  I love everything about this shawl from the color scheme to the variety of shapes and sizes of the motifs to the way the shawl forms a sort of collar and cuff.  The sculptural flowers and dainty doilies are just beautiful.  Hollywood got it right!

Have to try to make this shawl.  If anyone is feeling this too, please share!

I think it's this throw from the Anthropologie online store (or something very similar): http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?navAction=jump&id=993345&parentid=SEARCH_RESULTS&color=012

There is a nice detail shot if you want to make something like it for yourself.

I totally agree! I absolutely loved this throw. If I knew how, it would be a great scrap project!
