My question is... I am doing a pattern that gives me this instruction...

I know this part:  ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring

rnd 1: ch 3 (counts as dc). [3 dc. (ch 2. 4 dc) 3 times] in ring. ch2. join with sl st to top of ch 3.   <--- HELP HERE PLZ

Thanks in advance... This is going to be a motif for a baby blanket.

It looks to me like there is an error in your pattern instructions.

I believe Rnd 1 should read:  Ch 3 (this counts as 1 dc), make 3 dc, ( then ch 2 and make 4 dc in the ring 3 times).  Join with a sl st to top of ch 3.

You should now have 4 dc, 2 chains,  4 dc, 2 chains, 4 dc, 2 chains, 4 dc, 2 chains.  remember the first chain 3 is counted as a dc.

Thanks... I think my problem is I am confused when it says ch 3 (counts as dc). [3dc. .....] because I am reading it  and I am wondering what I do with the first ch 3 that counts as a dc.
