My nephew is graduating from Iowa State in May.  I'd like to do an afghan for him.  I saw a finished Iowa Hawkeye baby blanket this weekend that was single crochet in wide stripes and then the name and logo was finished in cross stitch.  Unfortunately the person that made the blanket was not at the baby shower.  I can't seem to find anything online.....or anything that looks suitable to convert.  Does anyone have a suggestion?

Ebay has a collection of Iowa State Cyclones cross-stitch patterns for sale on this link for $5.95:

The graph used for cross-stitch can easily be used as a graph for single crochet or Tunisian (Afghan) stitch crochet.

This is a great website for tunisian or single crochet patterns.  There are many sports related examples and if you can't find what you're looking for, someone can lend a hand.  You may have to join the group but it's well worth the wealth of info.

I searched Google for Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa State Cyclones Logo to look at the Images.  Some of them are fairly simple, and could be charted on graph paper to cross stitch on your afghan or worked right in to the crochet.

Let us know if you find a logo you like.

Best wishes
