Introduction and Question about Wire Crocheted Jewelry

Hi,

My name is Vee and I am new to crocheting. Recently I took a wire bead crochet jewelry class and now I am hooked on crochet. I can't wait to learn new stitches so I practice almost every day trying to get better so I don't have to spend so much time ripping out my stitches.

I have a question for anyone who makes wire crochet jewelry. What kind of wire do you use? Right now I am using craft wire that I buy from Michael's or A.C. Moore, but it is inexpensive craft wire. I am looking for really good colored wire that will not chip when I crochet it. Too brands that I have heard of are "Artistic Wire" and wire from a company called Para Wire.

i am very new to crocheting again. I was 18 when i made my first shell stitch afghan and that was all i could do except one big granny stitch afghan. Anyway 20 years later here i am not very good but making a big granny square again for a young man in a wheelchair who cant move at all an his arms get cold all the time. So im asking if anybody has suggestions how i can put a slit in there and maybe even like a flap going down to cover his arm kinda like a snuggy but not so constricting. If anybody has help for me please please Oh and his birthday is May 26th So im really behind. thank you so much. Hello Everyone.

Thought I would take a few moments to introduce myself. My name is Andrew and I have been crocheting now for approximately 17 years and I absolutely love it and not only that I have found that my crochet has brought pleasure to others. Most of the items I have crocheted over the past 17 years has either gone to charity or has been sold for charity. I have now decided to make a load more so that I can post some photos of my work on Facebook in the not too distant future, and yes, before you ask, I am a man who loves to crochet. It is great for relaxing and focusing the mind. I have made everything from scarves and hats to bedspreads and tablecloths and Christmas decorations etc. and whole host of other things. I am working in some crocheted roses at the moment,

I crocheted many years ago, wasn't an accomplished technical crocheter ... I only knew single, dbl and trple crochet) but loved it becasue I was a terrible knitter. Am just now getting back into crocheting, mainly because I want to do something creative and wearable, and the lace trend has caught my eye. My wife and I try to include each other in our interests. Before we married I started a bicycle club so....she joined and did very well in spite of her asthma!

We went to a bed & breakfast for a week honeymoon long that included fishing. Diane had never caught a fish....I chose and baited her hook for her and she caught FOUR, I caught none!

One October Diane decided to knit Christmas gifts. I knew that it was short notice, so I said if she taught me, I would help, but only do scarves.

She did and I learned, knitted some scarves and let her talk into helping with a sweater.

Since then, I'm hooked!!!

Hello everyone.

I just picked up crocheting again after many many years and I am really enjoying it! I find myself looking for patterns, charities and very cheap or FREE yarn to make things. I have a bunch of yarn that was given to me by my mother-in-law after her mother died so I am using it up.I live in North Carolina and I am a wife and mother of two. My daughter is a sophmore in college and my son is in 7th grade. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you and learning more about crocheting.

To All of My New Crochet Buddies!

I am new to the online crocheting scene. I am so glad I found your community!

I am a long-haul truck driver and I drive team with my hubby. Absolutely loving it! I decided to get some yarn and crochet some gifts for this past Christmas. I not only got all of them done and given, but found that I had lots of different colors of yarn left over. So I am making myself a sampler, patchwork sweater vest.

I have bought 2 crochet 'Bible's' and decided that I am crocheting a sample brick patch of each type of stitch that they show. I will edge each sampler in black, and I will have a 'capelet'. I have looked at many different designs for vests and capes, but I figure what better way to use my excess yarn, make the sweater vest my pattern, and practice my crochet at the same time!

I am using many different colors of yarn and I will put the trucking company that I work for on the vest as well. I have quite a few samples made so far then realized in order for it to fit I need to have graph paper and a measuring tape so I can get the size and placement correct. So when I came home I picked those up. Now I can actually figure out how many samples I will need and where I am going to place them at.

I am 52 years young and I have been crocheting off and on since I was 12yo. I like it a lot right now as it fits into the truck without using a lot of space! I never realized just how many yarns there are out there! I also sew so I am making holders for all of my supplies using both together.

Hi everyone. My grandma taught me to crochet close to 40 years ago, but like most teens I did not want to be caught crocheting or any other craft. Now I am very disabled and stuck at home 24/7 so I have picked up crocheting again after 25+ years. I am loving it and it is bring back so many memories of my grandma. My first project was a scarf I gave away for Christmas. I have made several potholders and now I am working on an afghan. I am looking forward to getting to kow everyone and getting to learn many new stitches and patterns.

I thank God that I found this website. I have been searching for free downloads on step-by-step guide in crocheting. Some I have downloaded are patterns with symbols and abbreviations that I can't understand. I have found a book in the bookstore which caught my interest (Crochet Step by Step by Sally Harding) but I still don't have the money to buy the book so I'm so glad that I found this website. Hi everyone! My name is Kimberly and I am just learning to crochet. I enjoy it so much. I am still learning and practicing stitches, but have dedicated myself to sticking with it and become good at it.

Other than my crochet experience, I am 40 years old. I have been married for 18 years and have a 10-year-old daughter. I teach part-time at a private school, intern in counseling at a large public high school, and am finishing my master's degree in May. My other big hobby is cooking. I have been doing it for 38 years.

I have been crocheting for about 40 years and enjoy relaxing in my easy chair with my yarn, my needle and my cat! She loves to watch me crochet and sometimes likes to participate. I have recently joined the CrochetMe family and am looking forward to getting new patterns and new ideas from other members. I am a member of a knitting/crocheting group at my church and we knit and crochet lap throws and various other items for the local nursing homes. We also do layettes for another group at our church who gives them to pregnant women in need. It is so rewarding to make something for someone who needs a bit of joy and love in their life.
