hi, Does anyone know a solution for this problem; I crocheted necklaces using blue/green colored yarn. I have tried to take pictures with two cameras but I still don't get the right color and it bothers me because then the beautiful color wont show as the right one in the picture! Harley Davidson afghan

A few weeks ago I came upon an offer for free instructions to make an afghan with the Harley Davidson logo on it. The designer of the afghan offered to send free instructions to all who left their e-mail address and the form they wanted the instructions to be sent (JPEG, etc.) I left my address, but never heard anything further. Can anyone help me? I'd like to make the afghan for my son for Christmas.

My nephew is graduating from Iowa State in May. I'd like to do an afghan for him. I saw a finished Iowa Hawkeye baby blanket this weekend that was single crochet in wide stripes and then the name and logo was finished in cross stitch. Unfortunately the person that made the blanket was not at the baby shower. I can't seem to find anything online.....or anything that looks suitable to convert. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hello Crochetme,

I realize this post may not be in the spirit of the forum (that being learning and sharing passion for the craft of crochet) but I will give it a shot nonetheless.

I have a pattern for a pair of slippers in the likeness of a tank from WWII that I am hoping to have made as a gift for a relative. Honestly, I do not have a lot of interest in learning to crochet, though the ability does seem to allow people to create some pretty great items. For what it's worth, this person is a veteran and pretty big military history buff.

I'm looking for someone who might be willing to take this project on, I have little basis of reference to describe the difficulty, but as stated it is a pair of slippers so a 3-d object with several sections that I believe are woven together at some point. I have the pattern in PDF form.

I would certainly be willing to compensate anyone who can help me out for their time and effort, and would ever so grateful. The person I plan to give these to has a milestone birthday in September, which is when I hope to gift them.

If you, or someone you know, would be willing and able to give this a try, please get in touch.

Team Spirit Skirt, measurements of each piece?

Can't add link but patter is call Team Spirit Skirt from 2005

I know this is an older pattern and some of the links for it no longer exist but I am pretty experienced and feel confident that I can make this project despite a few minor setbacks. I was hoping someone here may know what the finished measurements of the individual pleats are. I plan to use a different yarn so gauge is a little off but as long as the sizes of each piece are correct it should work. It's all straight rows Anyway. For the skirt to fit me I would have to make XL but L would also fit. So without the actual pleat sizes I plan to go with medium. It does say it will be triple the finished length but since the measurements are 44-46 that doesn't help much in guessing. worse case I add or subtract a pleat in the end.

I clean houses for a living and i have a family who has a handicap son and he loves dale sr, so i would like to be able to make him something, i am not a very good crocheter to read graphs or crochet with 2 colors at a time. i work with granny squares. can anyone help me. I was thinkin just doing a white three in center and outline with black squares but not sure. apprecitate all the help .

...for conjuring up a picture of your childhood in todays email 11th Feb , it's amazing how quickly the seasons pass as we get older and our childhood summers were in a bubble and school was just a memory - something only to be thought of when doing homework. It was so much more fun to be learning to crochet than doing lessons.

i am trying to find a crochet pattern for a circle baby blanket my mother in law made this blanket for yrs she got the pattern from a magazine i have the original pages for the pattern but it is wrinkled and worn i dont know what mag came from and she has passed several years ago so i cant ask where it came from i am trying to get another copy of the pages (i know can just copy but would like copy of the original) i would like to laminate the ones she used but i dont want to ruin so i want to get copies to try 1st the pages dont have what mag came from it is for a flower shawl it is a circle blanket the description under name is: A delicate border of blossoms and lace trims this lovely shawl for a baby, made with fine random pastel yarn. The main part of the shawl is worked in doubles accented with swirling lines of openwork. she has been making this blanket since before 1992 that is when me and my now husband have been together any help would be appreciated there are pictures with names but i couldnt find anny mags looking up there names thank u sorry post so long

Hello there! I'm a self taught crocheter, and have been at it for about 2 years now. I'm having a blast and am trying to learn how to do the more intermediate/complicated patterns.

Currently I am working on an earflap hat (a pattern that I found at redheart.com. I understand how to do all of the stitches, which are dc2tog, Fpdc, Bpdc. But, the pattern is making me doubt my self-taught skills. lol

I am in search of something I can look at that would be list and show every part of the stiitch. For example; i have done one pattern where the author included the "anatomy" of the stitch in a sketch, as to what was the post and which stitch was part of that post, such as in the pic below:

I am searching for something like this, but that would show me further details... specifically, if part of the pattern reads:

"ch 3, dc in next stitch, 2 Fpdc in next stitch, "dc in next 2 sts, 2 Fpdc in next st, repeat from * around; join with slip st in top of ch-3"

I need to know which is the "next stitch" after I do the Fpdc? I thought I knew, but I keep ending up with too many or too little stitches at the end of the rounds and I've pulled my work out no less than 4 times now!! Ack! I need help! lol

If anyone has info on where I might find something like this, please let me know! Thank you for your time!! :)

PS - I did go to Dummies.com where the above photo was pulled from, but I still couldn't locate what I'm looking for. :/

I enjoyed reading about the editors love of crocheting large projects like afghans when the weather turns cold. I also love to do that and presently have 4 different craft projects in the 'still working' stage. As it turns out only one of them is actually a crochet project. (a baby blanket for an expected baby at church)

I actually enjoy having several different kinds of projects going...especially when crocheting a repetative pattern. Now that I am getting older I find my hands start to hurt after crocheting for an hour or two. I then switch to counted cross stitch for a while until my eyes get weary looking at the tiny squares. LOL...the things we do to create beautiful things!

I currently have the baby blanket to crochet, the cross-stitched pillow, the plastic canvas Christmas decoration and a large rug to finish hooking. I especially like to work on the rug on cold days. I get too hot working on it in the summer. It will be about 5' x 7' when finished. I wonder how many winters it will take? Hope it's done while I still like the colors I've chosen to match my living room!

Hi, almost 20 years ago I saw a jacket on a lady in a nursing home where I worked. She couldn't remember the name of the pattern but told me she would get her daughter to find it and bring it to me. So long ago, LOL, I can't remember what happened but I never got the pattern and I never forgot it either. So I am hoping someone has this pattern or knows the name of it so I can find it. I appreciate any and all help along the way.

The jacket had a ruffly collar like a clowns ruffle. The body of the jacket flared out at the bottom, if I remember correctly it was done in a ripple, kind of fitted at the top and as I said bigger at the bottom of the jacket. The sleeves were fitted at the armhole but puffed out until the 3/4 point where it switched to a long cuff.

In reply to the request for examples of creating my own filet chart, couldn't find out where to leave a comment, so I'm posting here.

I printed a modern city scape, taken from the iconic Manchester United stadium, onto graph paper and with a little bit of poetic license, moving a building here, simplifying others, produced a filet chart which I worked from

Great fun, just working out what subject to choose next.

My one regret is that despite using extended trebles for the posts, the stitches were not quite square, hence the squashed appearance of the buildings, and the framer didn't stretch the piece, as I'd asked, so the edges of the buildings are a little bit wavy. C'est la vie! I'll have to learn framing in addition to crochet.
