I need a pattern for a large heart pillow. Just enough for a person to lay their head on.
I only have worsted yarn so I'd like a pattern using that and prefferably with size H hook or larger

I'm stuck on making the petals for the Blossom Hair Clips pattern. I've chosen to make the petals without picots. What confuses me is how to start the petals. It says to insert the hook thru first 3 loops....first 3 loops of what? I think I need a video, pictures or a more clear explanation. I love how these look and want to make them but am so frustrated. Help!

Abracadabra bag -- where to find yarn?

Hi there,

I am interested in doing the Abracadabra bag, but, I have been unable to find the yarn. This was originally published in Interweave Crochet, Spring 2012.

This uses 100% plant fiber yarn. The recommended is Pierrot Yarns Amian. Size 4. I have been in contact with Pierrot Yarns, but, they are out-of-stock on the Amian. Anyone else ever done something with 100% plant fiber yarns? Do you know of an online store where I could possibly find this type of yarn?

I'm stuck. I've just started with the yoke, done rows 1-4, and am a bit confused by row 5. It seems simple: "Row 5: Rep row 2" but the numbers don't match up (obviously). Is this a misprint? Do I just need to adjust the stitch numbers to match up with the new row (does this make sense)? Or should I just do a row of hdc across?

Has anyone completed this project?

ERROR in Waldo Sweater from Winter 2013... Question re: etiquette when correction not found.

As I seem to be the only one crocheting the Waldo Sweater in Winter 2013 either here or on Ravelry.com as far as I can tell, is it up to me to bring to the attention of the publishers a MAJOR glaring error in the published pattern? As I have no desire to write the correction myself, I'd like the original designer, in collaboration with the publisher, to correct it for future crocheters.

The error begins on RND 12, and then continues for the remainder of the pattern because of it. Basically, in a nut shell, it calls for CC B instead of the pictured CC C, and if one doesn't happen to have the magazine with the photo of the finished sweater from different angles, since the colorwork is on both the body and shoulders/sleeves, one would end up making a HUGE mistake if the written pattern is followed.

This is particularly detrimental because this is a basic pattern set up round, the pattern requiring RNDS 5-16 as the basis for the rest of the pattern/ colorwork.

Luckily, I spotted it right away, but not soon enough to prevent me from cutting all the bobbins as I started this crucial round. I have to tie all 4 of the color C bobbins back in...if I'd just trusted myself instead of putting all my faith in the rightness of the written pattern, I never would have unnecessarily cut them. OOPS!

So, who do I need to let know about this big boo boo? If its already been corrected somewhere, I haven't found it!

Help with Bloomsbury Top

I am having a problem with the filler motif on the Bloomsbury top (Interweave Spring 2013). The written instructions say *dc in next ch 1 sp on filler motif, ch 5 join, however, looking at the chart it looks like it should be *chain 2' dc, ch2, join. Am I reading the chart wrong or misinterpreting the directions?

fisherman ripple afghan pattern

Hi, many years ago my Mom made a afghan from a kit from Herrshners. I've been looking for the pattern. I think it was called Fishermans Ripple afghan. It is a ripple pattern for a few rows and then a lacy pattern. Does any one know how to find this pattern? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Linda

Hello. Sorry I dont speak good english. Im from Spain.

I begin this beautiful shawl, but I have problem with the 6 row. When I make is not beautiful, because isnt a line. I am triying to understand the mistake. I read some post that said its a mistake but I dont undersatd where.

I use the draw, because I dont understand good the instructions in english. Is the mistake in the chart draw, or only in the english writting instructions?.

Can you help me to know what can I do in the row 6?

I find this correction, but I thin is only in the writting instruction, isnt it?

There will be a problem if in the 6 row, I dont make like the chart, and I repeat the begining chart like we make in the row 4(only one petal of the flower)?

Possible typo in Quartz Lace Top, Interweave Winter 2013?

I'm loving the Quartz Lace Top pattern in Interweave Crochet's Winter 2013 issue, but am suddenly stuck at the beginning of Rnd 25! The pattern says to begin V-sts in previous row, but describes the previous row as rnd 5 from the lace pattern, although I have ended at rnd 4 from the lace pattern!

I've done the math, and can't see how this is possible... If the lace pattern is grouped into 5 rows per "set," and I've ended on Rnd 24, then theoretically I should still be missing the last rnd from that "set" in the lace pattern? But for some reason the pattern makes it sound like I should have finished 5 rows from the "set."

To be entirely clear, the pattern asks for Rnd 25, "...V-st in each V-st and center ch of each ch-3 sp around..." however the round I have just finished is the round with the "fan" stitch, so there is no ch-3 sp in this row; they appear in the next row. I do have 14 V-st in each corner as the pattern says I should have at this point.

Also, Rnd 1 of the top pattern starts at rnd 1 of the lace pattern, so there can't be any confusion there. (The first row of V-st is called "Set-up Rnd," so I know that's not the issue.)

Finally, I've looked at the photos and it definitely looks like the "set" of 5 for the lace pattern was finished before this Rnd 25 began. I'm thinking I need to crochet the final row of this "set," I'm just not sure if I should increase or not since I won't be following the pattern to do it.

Has anyone noticed this?

Hi, I want to start this jumper and have started messing around with gauge - and have some questions already! Firstly, I know it is in the round but nowhere does it say whether to turn after each row or not? I assumed not but 3 rows of sl st flo would surely then make a roll of fabric rather than a flat neckline?

Any tips as well for doing a gauge swatch that is reliable when the pattern is in the round? Do I do a little tube?

Also I'd like to know the shade of the yarn used in the picture, it is hard but possible to get this Cascade in the UK but I do like this colour but would hate to guess and get it wrong!

Finally, in the stitch guide there are instructions for beg-ldc, but I can't find it used in the pattern at all? Should it be??

Please help before I spend 60 quid odd on wool and can't work it out!! Thanks!

I REALLY REALLY want to make the Clones lace stole pictured in the Interweave Crochet 2012 - all the motifs were in previous magazines which I have EXCEPT for two which are listed as available online. I can't find them anywhere! Maybe someone out there can help me.

I emailed the editor and got no response which is upsetting but I do understand they are a busy crew over there.

Ok so the patterns I need are listed on page 58 on the fall interweave issue - like I said I have all the magazines needed I just can't find the two online patterns - 11. Clematis and 12. Sarah's Lacy Shamrock.

Please help I need this finished by feb next year!!!!

Swain's Sweater - Help, please!

Has anyone out there made the Swain Sweater cardigan in the Winter/2011 issue? The front left & right side are worked top down to the armpits. Then the back is worked top down to the same level. Then they're joined together (Row 28) with an additional 10 stitches under each armhole, and continued down to the bottom. The sleeves are started from the shoulder and the pattern says to pick up the stitches for the sleeve using only Rows 1 - 27, NOT Row 28, which has an additional 20 stitches. I followed the directions, although it didn't look right to me. Now I've finished the first sleeve, but when I try to whipstitch the underarm seam, I can't see how to do it without leaving a hole at the underarm where the 10 stitches are. Am I not reading the pattern correctly? I'd sure appreciate some advice! Thanks, Christabel

Gauge For "Saturn Sweater" -- Help Please

I'm in the UK and just bought "Interweave Crochet Fall 2012" as I fell in love with the gorgeous cardigan featured on the front cover.

It seems a fairly straightforward pattern but I just can't get the gauge/tension of 14sts x 11 rows over hdc using a 5mm hook. I@

I have tried various sized hooks from 4.5mm to 6mm and nothing works. Could it be the yarn I'm using or is it me ??

The pattern uses what I would class as a lightweight dk and I'm using a standard UK dk...would this make much difference ?

Should I work out my size using the gauge/tension I get with the 5mm hook which is 20sts x 12 rows

I'd be so grateful for any advice as I'm wanting to start this cardigan asap.

I'm getting ready to begin the pattern for the "Hank and Joe Vest" by Brenda K.B. Anderson and I'm wondering if anyone here has made this. I just love the look of the finished project in the photo! I purchased some beautiful yarn to make the vest for my 6 y/o grandson, as a Christmas gift. I'm hoping I'm successful with this pattern. It's my first purchased pattern from the Interweave online store.

saturn sweater november 2012

I am trying my first sweater, pattern row 2 has( 2,5,5,5,2) what is that for? I am making the size 22. On row 7, it has rep. 3-6 four times for size 22, is that 12 rows, or 16? and 3-4 one time with (one, zero, one, zero, zero), dose that mean for my 22 NOT TO do 3-4? Also it has a little bit of ruffle right now, will it hang right as I get farther along in this pattern? At the end of 7-16 it has remove markers, then do I skip to row 19? for my size 22? She has a 48DD bra, wears a 1or2x, will the 22 be right? Last I think is what does work even mean? This is after row 19 for five times. Is it to work hdc in each hdc for five rows? Will I need to Ch 2 before each row?
