When sewing on buttons on babys clothing, use the yarn or material that you have made the item with to sew on the button.s. Don't keep cutting your wool to start another button to sew on, make the piece of wool longer than you would and after you've sewn the button on where you want to, wind the yarn around the button and make a knot around it. Don't cut, but keep using the same length for the next button and continue to sew on button the same way you did the first one with making a knot around the button that you're sewing on. This works great and you don't have to keep rethreading your needle to sew on another button. This way the buttons are all held together with one long length of wool. This really works very well for flat buttons.
