I purchased little mini "butterfly" clips -- you know, the ones little girls wear. You can get about 2 dozen in a package at the dollar store. I originally read this tip and it called for using these clips for holding your work together while sewing pieces together, but these clips work for a lot of things. You can use them to mark stitches, just clip the edge of the clip into your stitch. You can use them to mark rows. I use red to mark decrease rows and green for increase rows, but use whatever colors you like. They are also good for clipping your yarn end and your hook to your work. You can also clip your pattern to the work (I copy my patterns and keep the copies with the work so I don't mess up my books and magazines) Anyway, you get the picture I'm sure. These little things do a lot of work for only $1 (plus tax).
