How to prevent stockinette edges from rolling

In both knitting and crocheting in a garter or stockinette stitches, the edges always roll towards the right side of the crocheted fabric. To correct this problem with both knitted and crocheted scarf, I finish the edges by doing 1 to 2 rounds of any edging design I choose with the wrong side of the crocheted fabric up then after this, I do right side (RS) row or round and wrong side (WS) next alternately. I've shown photo of a knitted scarf that a friend knitted for me. I added the black edging to correct the problem of the scarf rolling too much.
