I am in charge of the prayer shawl ministry at the new Hope Lodge in Grand Rapids, Michigan ( American Cancer Society). This is a beautiful 20 room facility where cancer 'guests' and their caregiver can stay for FREE while they receive treatment in Grand Rapids. We wanted to give them a small gift when they arrive so we put together a basket of a pillow with the HOPE Lodge embroidered on it, a bag of lemon drops - for that awful metal taste from chemo, a journal and pen to take to the doctor's office so that the caregiver can write down what is said, and a prayer shawl.
