HELP WITH ZIG ZAGS

I have trouble with zigzags im okay through the middle but the ends flare out it like keep adding stiches and i cant stop i trouble counting stiches while im working (3kids) always there tryin to teach them to....need tricks for the ends of zigzags thanks

I was going to suggest counting, but then I reread your post. I suspect you *are* adding stitches at the ends. If your corner zig in the middle is usually 3 or 5 stitches, then I think you'll just have to remember/count that it's only 2 or 3 stitches at the ends - probably half the number in the middle plus 1. I'm guessing at the number. Your pattern will tell you.

Oh, you may be adding a stitch where the turning chain is. If so, that chain shape - the top of the last st in the previous row at the base of the turning chain - shouldn't be worked in unless your pattern says to. The turning chain takes that spot. Move to the next st.

What I said maybe makes no sense since I am just guessing about what your pattern is. Could you post part of the instructions? It will be easier for us to help you.
