I love the 'granny's no square' bag in the Happy Hooker but I have no idea where to get the half dome gold rivets. Can any one help? I have googled and searched but still in the dark... maybe they have a different name in the UK?

Also, can anyone suggest a UK equivalent yarn for the Berroco Suede? Or let me know if there is a UK supplier.

Cheers!

Yep - tried diy shops but the ones I found require welding and I don't think that can be right! ;-)

The main problem is that I don't really know what I'm looking for. I found some studs for leathercraft on ebay which looked promising (although the wrong size) but they have prongs round the edge rather than a post through the middle which I assume is what is needed to go through the holes in the centre of the granny squares.

This is a great site btw!

Have you tried a craft shop? We have shops that support paper craft, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, beading, and who knows what else, named Joanne's and another named Michael's and some others not found here on the West Coast.

I glanced at a pattern for a ? today that called for x many 40-count bags of silver rivets, thought of you, so they must be common. It would be odd if they could only be found in the US.

If you wanted some rhinestones to decorate a tee shirt, where would you go? That shop may sell the decorative rivets or something you could substitute.

Berroco sells internationally. This site, http://retailers.berroco.com/berroco/ , may help.

I have tried all the craft shops I know of locally and on line with no luck. Someone on another site has directed me to Prym who make rivets for jeans etc but the biggest they do are 9mm and I'm looking for 13mm. I'll get the yarn and start making it (although I've been distracted by other patterns on this site, so don't hold your breath) and I'll use the 9mm if I can't get bigger ones.

Cheers!

I must be the only person on the planet that did not buy that book. Which is why I'm not able to 'see' the item you are looking for.

Anyway. I don't know what sites will ship outside of the usa, but I use Joanne Fabrics for many hard to find craft supplies. Also Fire Mountain Gems is an excellent source for jewelry related supplies. And there is always Ebay. Tandy Leather Factory has lots of goodies on their site.

I'm guessing that this book does not have a page that gives the sources for the supplies used in the patterns. I'll remember that should I ever get around to publishing a book.

Meantime, happy searching!

Totally OT...

I know a Dolly Daydream in the UK. Do we know each other?

I have also tried - and failed - to find suitable rivets in the UK! I just made the bag without them and it looks fine, but if you ever do find them, let me know where because I would love to add them if I could!
