Well, after seeing a dozen people create the turkish slippers out of the book "simple crochet" i decided i had to do it myself. i am a SUPER beginner, so this is an amazing feat of talent to complete one whole slipper. and it looks fab. except that i increased the rounds too slowly for my foot (i have wide feet) so i have a two inch long point at the front of my toe. which looks horrible, trust me.
can i just chop out the first round and unravel a bit and essentially "backwards crochet"?? is that possible? or... do I really have to unravel the WHOLE THING???
any suggestions?! HELP!

You made me smile with your experience on the slipper. I have been crocheting for 17 years or more and I still struggle with a pattern the first time I make it.
But in my experience I have had occassion to rip out a few rows after I finished an item. It can be done. Carefully. I usually end up snipping the first stitch with scissors to get the unraveling started. And when I'm done ripping back (unraveling) I simply fasten off as usual.
Hope this helps.
