My baby's diaper bag was stolen out of our car the other day, so I'd like to crochet a new one. Does anybody have a large bag pattern that is easy and sturdy that would make a chic diaper bag? I can line the inside with needed pockets, etc.

The big tote bag from the Crochet Me book would be great I think. Plus it's felted, so it stays dry for a long time for those strolls in the rain!

Also there's a good one at http://funkyhooker.blogspot.com/2006/03/crocheted-felted-diaper-bag.html

Good luck!

Ps: who is stupid enough to steal a diaper bag?

Perfect, thank you very much, can't wait to start.

The diaper bag was a large leather bag, so it looked more like a purse, I left it on the front seat of the car while I ran into Target, came back and my window was smashed, everything else was still there except the bag. I bet they were bummed to find diapers, onsies, blanket, bottle. Maybe they can use the wipes!

My only hope for them is that there was a soiled diaper in there!

Anyway, good luck with the bag! And I thought of something: if the 3 bottle holders are too prominent for future use of the bag as a purse, you could perhaps make them separatly and sew them on after everything has been felted. Like that, you'll be able to remove them easily and have your kid use the bag for school!
