I have trouble crocheting consistently. Even when I do a piece in a fairly short amount of time, I end up doing some portion of it more or less loosely than the rest, so it looks funny. I have gotten better in time, but still can't get it just right. Does anyone have any tips? I read about something called "blocking" on this site. Can that help?

Thanks!!!

Blocking might help if there isn't too much of a difference in your stitch sizes. I've read a tip that if you start loose and become tight, start with a smaller hook and then switch to the recommended one after you've gotten settled into the work. If you start tight and then go loose, start with the recommended hook and then switch to a smaller hook when you've settled into the work. Maybe that will help?
