Okay everyone... I need ideas for inexpensive, yet lovely, gifts. I'm already stitching a scarf for my sister & thinking of adding some dangly beaded ear rings to match & a button bracelet. My mom is another story....oh, where to start? Any cool ideas to share?

Is she at the keyboard, computer or piano, for long? I'm about to break out last years fingerless mitts to protect my arms from the cold. Maybe use some of that yarn with the beads built in already. The brand name escapes me. Something like Tillie Thomas?

There is a nice spa set on the lion brand yarn site for crochet. Maybe make that and pair it with some fancy bath stuff. Of course, jewelry is always a winner too. Maybe try your hand at some wire crochet and accent it with freshwater pearls or semiprecious stones. The stones and pearls are really inexpensive at craft stores (maybe 5.00 for a bag), and just using a simple chain stitch or single crochet looks fabulous.

Thanks for the great ideas ladies!! Unfortunately my mom can't wear much jewelry due to her allergies. However...I have a pattern for a crocheted floral bracelet that may do...? I've tried wire & crochet & that was a disaster!! Lol!! The mitts may be a good idea though. I know she likes to stitch as much as we do. She could take them along with her in the car for those long road trips to my place to visit. Again, thank you. :)

my big xmas idea this year was to make the sleep mask in this month's issue of crochet everyday, some slippers and an easy throw. or make some bath salts/oils and exchange whatever. sort of a "relaxing" package.
