Don't we all, don't we all! My stash is disorganized chaos.

I read an on-line article by a woman who bought some great storage gizmos that formed a grid of open cubes that covered a wall. It looked like a good start.

But then, do you sort by yarn material, by weight, by color?

I admit I have the same problem. My hubby just sighed when he found out I had stolen half of his sock drawer for yet more yarn... I'd need an actual room just for yarn. Will definately not happen in my house!

What about a closet organizer? You know, the ones you hang from the bar that have several little square compartments? I love the attractiveness of yarn, so I have mine balled and in decorative baskets. Or, if you really don't know what to do with it all, send it to a charity organization that could use it to make blankets and clothes.

Search the web for a "Yarn Tote" its a bag very much like a duffel but it is clear and portable perfect for storage

Use a bookcase.. section it off if you want seperate compartments.

Clear hard plastic storage totes.. they stack nicely

Give your husband back his sock drawer and take his closet ;-)

You can get flat, long Rubbermaid-type totes that will fit under a bed.

Empty out a spare closet if you have one, and install shelves across the width of the closet.

Go to a thrift store and purchase a cheap used dresser. If it's in bad shape, you can repaint it. You can then use dividers in the drawers to create individual compartments.

I use clear plastic shoe-boxes and stack them on a bookshelf, it seems to work quite well - I just couldn't find a box or bag big enough.
