Hi! I'm new to this website and group! I'm looking for some valentines day patterns! My mother in law lost her husband back in April and I'm looking for a valentines gift to make her since this will be the first year she won't have anyone to spend valentines with or be getting a valentines day gift! I haven't been crochet long so I'm looking for any ideas or easy begginer patterns! Any help would be great thanks so much!!!

You can try looking at crochetpatterncentral.com to see if they have any you could use. And some of the major yarn companies have free patterns on their websites. Bernat, Paton, Lion Brand, Lily, etc ... around this time they might have Valentine's patterns available.

You might try typing, free valentine crochet patterns, in your search engine.

You're doing a very kind thing. My first Valentine's day as a widow was difficult.

An idea - make a number of flat heart shapes, about 5" wide or so, in various shades of pink and red. Sew them together to make a scarf. Or make fewer and sew them together to make a warm collar that buttons around the neck.
