Ok - so I've finally got around to buying the yarn for the Doris Chan jewel sweater which I've had the hots for since the book came out. I think I've finally mastered the concept of the sc cast on...but here's the nerdy question...
American and British crochet terms are slightly different US sc = UK dc and a US dc = a UK treble (I think). I'm assuming that all instructions are US but the schematic to go with the pattern makes the shells look like they're constructed from UK sc and dc.
I am probably being irretrievably dull but would someone be able to clarify this for me?
Thanks in anticipation!
Heather
ps- I just found someone else on this site who made this sweater- so pretty! http://crochetme.com/forum/jewel-top-doris-chan-everyday-crochet
mad for crochet!
Thanks - good idea with the swatches - so far I've been swatching with different hooks to see if I can get the right gauge - think that maybe I should stick to remedial crochet...
mad for crochet! No no - charge ahead! It is so fun to try new things as long as you don't worry too much about how long it takes to get it!You never know- you may discover something cool along the way!
