My Husband loves these hats and I Love to crochet and I would love to make him one, I have been online forever looking for a patttern and cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated
Sort of like a newsboy cap but the hat fabric is brought forward and snapped to the brim? Sorry, no, but maybe you could modify a newsboy cap. I love those.
Exactly what I am talking about, I'm going to try and modify a pattern but I'm really not that good and doing that, I'd much prefer a pattern, hopefully someone out there can help!
They are hard to find. I did find a web site where you can order a pattern. Here is the link:

Also, I found a website: Jimmy Beans Wool. They have a crochet kit for golf head covers BUT do not order it. They make it seem like you are getting a kit, with the yarn and a pattern. They show a picture of the golf head covers and they are really cool but they do not send a pattern with the kit which I find strange. All that they sent was yarn which I can buy at home. I don't need to order that! Anyway, I did order a pattern from them but I think it is a knitting pattern. Crochet Today apparently had one in a 2008 magazine. Sorry I am not more help but it seems that the only patterns are for knitting. Lion Brand has free knitting patterns on their website. Good Luck!
You mean a flat cap or scully cap?
When I first thought of learning crochet I got the book Son of Stitch & *** at the local library. One of the patterns that decided me was one called Lidsville.
You can find it here: http://www.mylifetime.com/lifestyle/home-crafts/craft-ideas/needle-arts/crochet-projects#id=4
Right now I'm working on my own version of it. I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out since I'm a newbie. All I have done is the top panel of the cap which I started with a double chain foundation that I then started to do a single crochet spiral around. And the inside hat band. Now all I need is the bill sides and back to connect the two.
I like making a piece of string into something I can wear. ~Author Unknown
I haven't made this cap, but I do want to make it for my Dad when I find the time.
