Hi all,

I am working on my first jacket pattern, my first clothing pattern actually and am stuck at the armhole. Here is what the pattern says:

Row 1 (ws) ch 3,1 dc in each for next 26 sts, 2 dc in next st, turn (got that fine!)

Cont on these 29 sts only for right front

Inc 1 st at armhole edge on next 2 rows

My question is also regarding the increase. When it says increase 1 st, work 2 dc in next stitch, chain 3, 1 dc in stitch below...what does 'in the stitch below' mean.. where does that last stitch go? In the same one that I put the 2dc?

Thank you for whatever you can help me with. I've been so excited up until this point because the jacket is looking awesome, I'd hate to mess it up now.

The pattern is from Lesley Stanfield Adorable Crochet for Babies and Toddlers.

Here is a link to the jacket..just a picture but maybe it'll help

What a darling pattern!

I'm guessing that the pattern should say, "work 2 dc in next stitch, chain 3, TURN, WORK 1 dc in stitch below." In other words, increase at the start of the next row by working a dc into the base of the turning chain.

I hope that works.
