I have a pattern for a baby sweater and the largest size is 18 months. The directions are for 6mo/12mo/18mo. If I just add the difference in stitch count between 12mo & 18mo will I end up with a 24mo size? Will the pattern still "work"?

That might work, or you could try using a larger size yarn and needle. ~Brandi

I usually check to see how many chains they want for each size. Like 12,14,16 chains for the sizes you mentioned. Then I just figure the math to end up w/ the correct # chains. From there just read the pattern and make the same adjustments throughout. It's always worked for me, but I must throw in a disclaimer, so let's just say "I hope it works for you!"
