I found a cute picture of a crochet beanie I would like to make for my dd but can't figure out what the lace pattern was used on the hat. i want to thread a ribbon in the lace part and attach a flower to it. I believe that some are calling this the kufi hat. Thank you .

here's another picture of the hat.
It looks to me like a shell pattern with 2dc,ch1,2dc being the shell. The rest of the hat looks like sc in the round. When you get to where you want to start the lace, skip 3 ch between shells.
