Hi all :)

I'm about to embark on some crocheted lace curtains for our kitchen, and I'm looking around for a nice motif. Nothing too fiddly, as I'm working with a 2mm hook, and something that will create a nice lace without leaving too many large spaces for passers by to see through!

All suggestions gratefully received - I've worked up a few trial motifs, but haven't found the perfect one yet.

Hi Liath, Your curtain project sounds fun. Here are a couple of sources you may or may not have found:

I also think a filet crochet design could make nice curtains.

Thank you for those - I have already found the Antique library, which I agree is a great resource!

I did consider a filet pattern, but was put off by the size it would need to be. I tend to work using motifs, as they make everything more portable and I don't have to deal with an enormous bit of fabric until the last minute.

I was looking at a few more motifs last night, and think I've found one that will work, a little lace daisy made up with lots of chains and picots. I am going to have to drop a hook size though... might need a magnifying glass, lol!
