Need help to crochet socks

I’m crocheting my first pair of socks and it’s from the book Crocheted Socks by Janet Rehfeldt and Mary Jane Wood. The pattern Easy Does It is the one I’m doing.

I’m stuck on the gusset. I’ve got the flap and the heel turn done . I did the first part of round one of the gusset but can’t figure out where the nine sc go at the end of round one.

then round two and three are a complete mystery to me.

Help. I’ve been reading everywhere and asking and even gotten other directions and they are confusing me. I think I’m going to need pictures of this . I’ve never crocheted a sock.

When someone says end of flap or side of flap I have NO IDEA which is which.

I would be glad to help you out, but I don't have that book. If you write up the part of the pattern that is confusing you, I can try to help you decifer it.
