Hello all! I'm working on a pair of slippers and I can't seem to get the hang of chainless double crochet. I searched online and found a couple of videos but they weren't as much help as I'd like (and need!) Does anyone know of a book, or video that I could get my hands on that would help me? Thanks so much in advance!
Just got the book Special Techniques & Stitches in Crochet (copyright2008,DRG)....they have a "no-chain foundation" stitch in there which "allows you to make both the starting chain and the first row of stitches at the same time". Is that sorta like what you're talking about??? They're only showing it sc and hdc, but surely would work with other stiches, too (I would think, anyway..obviously, haven't tried it,HA!)
I'll look for that one. Thanks a lot!
If you have a recent issue of Interweave Crochet, the foundation sc (chainless sc, if you like), should be explained there. It's quite easy to convert to dc, once you've made a couple of stitches to get the hang of the technique.
It's really a neat thing to know!
