I have a question about the victorian shrug & wrap pattern. I am making the wrap and am working on the lacy edging around the bodice. Row 1 has got me stumped.

It says: ch 1, sc in first hdc, sk next 2 hdc, fan in next hdc, *sc in next hdc (so this is different from special stitch pattern and sleeves which say sk next 2 hdc), sk next 2 hdc, fan st in next hdc, sk next 2 hdc; sk next 2 hdc, rep from *....

So this stretches one side of the fan stitch out over 4 hdc on the following side and just 2 stitches on the leading side?? Or am I reading this wrong? I also don't get how you come up with only 20 fans in the sz 30 pattern. If we are supposed to skip more hdc to tighten the pattern, wouldn't we skip 3 before and 3 after to keep the fan centered?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Love the patterns in this book and already made the babydoll dress, only I made it shorter for a shirt.

I need help with the same pattern- but I only got to Row one of arm, and am SOOOO confused...

It says CH 8, remove hook but do not fasten off

join year to opposite end with same hook in top of tch, ch6. fasten off, Pick up dropped lp hdc in 3rd ch from hook etc...

I just dont really get whether you are making some loops here or what is going on really?

Absolutely confused!
