I have a fantastic pattern I just recieved for baby booties. I opened it up and I have no idea how to even do the first part of it haha. Can someone please explain what this means in laymans/newbie terms.

Ch 14, Make 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc 4. Hdc 1. Dc 4, make 7 dc in last chain, working across the other side of the ch, dc 4, hdc1, sc 4. (28)

do i do each sc 4 and dc 4 (and all multiple stitches in the one st? And does anyone know how im supposed to turn it over to work on the other side? Lol its so frustrating because this is such a cute pattern. And i have no friends at all who know crochet.

I love making baby booties--so tiny and adorable! Okay, after the ch 14 and the 3 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, you are going to sc once in each of the next 4 chains, hdc once, dc once in each of the next four chains, and then make 7 dc in the last chain. Then you just rotate your work like you are working in the round to make the remaining 4 dc, 1 hdc, and 4 sc in the "bottom" loops of your foundation chain. It comes out looking like an elongated ovalish shape. Hope that makes sense. I'm not great with directions.
