I've been knitting and crocheting forever and only recently I wondered if you can crochet in the round, like knitting in the round. I figured that it would eliminate the need for seams in the body of a sweater. Anybody got any ideas or have tried it?

mad for crochet!

It is quite common and useful for a lot of projects - amigurumi is always done in the round. Check out the pattern section here for some examples. One off the top of my head is Chloe Nightengale's secret method hat.
