I am working on a pattern called a Fancy Granny Hat. The pattern is fairly simple, but I do not understand what is meant by "ch 2 in ring". How am I supposed to Chain 2 into the ring???

Here is the full information for this round:

Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2 in ring, *3 dc, ch 2. Repeat from ? 2 more times, sl st tog at the top of ch3. (total of 4 groups of 3dc, ch 2)

Any help could be much appreciated! My daughter looked at me this morning and said, "Are you ever gonna' finish my hat???" I laughed and decided it was time to seek HELP! :)

Thanks,

Elizabeth

O.K. From what I read, you will ch2 then, in the ring, do 3dc and ch2 again, for a total of the 4 groups of 3dc and the last ch2 joining to the first ch3 (counts as 1st dc). Do you understand it now?

You are quite welcome, Elizabeth. Glad I could be of help. It is also a help to me in figuring out how to write patterns that make sense.
