Explanation for crochet stitch

I am crocheting baby blanket squares and can not figure out what this pattern direction means: (2 dc in next ch-1 sp)3 times *ch 2-corner made (2 dc in next ch-1 sp)5 times

Does this mean do 2 double crochet stitches in same space 3 times which means that one ch-1 space has 6 double crochets in it. If so, then that means after ch-2, the next ch-1 sp will have 10 double crochet stitches in one space. Is that correct. It doesn't look right? HELP.

The way I interpret the instruction is to repeat the instruction inside the parenthesis 3 times which means that in each of the next 3 ch1 spaces you will have 2 double crochet in each of these 3 ch1's; I will do the same with the next instruction in the parenthesis: do 2 double crochet in each of the next 5 chain-1 spaces. Since I don't know how the previous row was done, I don't understand the instruction or comment(?)"*ch2-corner made". I'm sorry, if I have confused you further but this is the way I would interpret these instructions.

It just now dawn on me that what the designer (probably) meant by "ch2-corner made" is to do 2 chains after doing the "(2dc in next ch-1 space)3times". The ch2 creates the corner of the square.

Right, chain4ever. You will do 2dcs in the next 3 ch1 spaces, then you will ch2 -- this makes your corner -- then 2dcs in the next 5 ch1 spaces...
