I have a hard time keeping up with my 5yr old in the store and would like to crochet something like a leash that would fit my hand and hers. I also would like to crochet her a ruldolph the red nose reinder afghan but cannot find any patterns. Thank for any help in advance. Blessings, Regina

I'd use thick cotton because it doesn't stretch and is very strong. The image I'm getting is of this: two wristbands made out of crocheted rectangles (one smaller than the other), onto which you sew Velcro strips to fasten them around your wrists. These would make them easy to put on and take off, and keep them on securely. To connect the two wristbands, you'd want crocheted cord. Chain wouldn't suffice, I don't think. There are many ways of making crochet cord but here's one: http://www.thepurseworkshop.com/crochet-i-cord.html.

Hope this helps!
