Hello all. I been crocheting since I was a little girl, but I've mostly crocheted by eye-balling stuff in the past. I'm only now (at age 32) starting to pay attention to hook size, gauge, and yarn weight. Boy, have I made some painful mistakes! LOL!

I have my own mini-farm. Twelve and one half acres in Ohio. I keep chickens, dairy goats, and fiber rabbits since I'm learning to spin. I'm mother to four (!) boys (!!!) which I home school. I'm madly in love with my husband of 12 years. I have been richly blessed.

It's a pleasure meeting you all.

Now, about Buffy...

I'm a rabid Buffy fan. I was exploring the blog part of this site and read about all the great crochet in Buffy... Where? I must have missed it! Is anyone out there dorky enough :) to be able to tell me what to look for in which episodes?

Thanks much,

Hi Red,

Crochet in the movies and on TV? Great topic, especially if we can get some pictures.

I've recently been watching some Jane Austen stories on-line. All those women do is embroider! I don't recall seeing any finished pieces around, either. Now if they had just crocheted...

I would love to teach my boys to crochet! I tried with my oldest a couple of years ago. He didn't "get it" right away, so he gave up. He may be ready to try again though. My 5yo wants to learn pretty badly. I'll take him to the store and let him pick out his own skein next time I go.

Interesting life? You bet. I just moved to the country 2 years ago. I'm a complete noob. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking... My goat is due to kid next month and I'm still working on my husband to build a kidding stall so she'll have a safe place to birth. I hope she doesn't have a hard time delivering because if I have to stick my arm up a goat I'm gonna cry. My chickens have quit laying due to the shorter days. They have to have a certain amount of light to lay. I didn't know that. Before next year I have to put florescent lights in my chicken coop so that I'll keep getting eggs during the winter. And my rooster is this close to getting sent to "freezer camp" for trying to assert his dominance over my sons...

... Perhaps the reason for my devotion to crochet has become evident...

Oh, I would be the total Buffy geek who blogged about crochet in the show. Willow wears some great crochet in Season 3. In the first couple of seasons Buffy sleeps on an Irish crochet pillow sham. Tara, starting in season 4, has a crocheted bedspread. Oh, it goes on and on... :)
