Hello everyone!

My name is Heather, I'm newly obsessed with crocheting. My mom taught me several years ago- but I dropped it in my rebellious teenage years.

This time, I just can't seem to stop. By stop, I mean, looking at yarns online, patterns, crocheting itself- my room mate is likely going to kill if I bring anymore yarn to our place. hehe.

Anyway, I am very interested in making friends with people of the obsessed mind. =]

I'd love to have some snail mail pals as well, just so I could have someone to make stuff for, exchange patterns, ideas etc.

If you're interested, message me - would definitely enjoy talking.

-Heather

Round ripple afghan..? sounds very beautiful. I'll try to look that up and see an example. I've been working on a windmill patterned afghan for a few weeks now- and just have some strips to make, since my squares became rectangles and I had to refigure the whole pattern to my liking. =] I'm excited to be done with it- as it's going to Wisconsin, actually, for my roommate's granny. I think I'm more excited to be done with the color green, though. hehe.

Snow? What's snow?.. lol, we used to have a fair amount here in Tennessee, but the last few years there hasn't been a lot. This year alone there has only been a few coverings. Not that I would like to drive in it, but I'd definitely love to take a walk in it. =D

Good luck on the shopping!

Hi.. YES! snow.. about three inches.. very cold and blustery too. .. NO!! I don't think you would want to drive in it.. and I don't think you would like to walk in it either.. Hmm, maybe I am wrong.. BUT! I Don't.. LOL. YUCK!!! Can spring be toooo far away!PLEASE!!

Needless to say I didn't get out to get my yarn for my round ripple project. Maybe this weekend.

Your project sounds interesting too.

Take care, Monique/Monica

Hi Heather,

Nice to meet you. I'm always looking for new patterns and would enjoy discussing crochet 'know-how', as well.

Hi Heather!

My story is similar to yours. My mother taught me to knit and crochet when I was very young, but as you did I walked away from it for several years. I came back to crochet about 5 years ago and I am beyond obsessed with it and fiber in general. I would love to correspond with you and share some patterns, maybe swap some blocks. I am currently working on two round ripples, a giant granny square afghan and I am about to start a starghan. If you are looking for a great pattern for a round ripple, I found this one really easy to follow: http://project-angel-kisses.150m.com/roundripple.html

Take care.

Hi, I am trying to make a ripple afghan. I have one that I made 30 odd years ago with help from my aunt who is over 90 now and cannot see that well anymore.\

I want to make a queen-sized ripple afghan using varigated yarn (it's an earth tone from Lion Brand's HOMESPUN line).

I must admit that I can follow anyone by watching but I stink at reading crochet patterns. I've looked at many patterns online and in books that I found in Michael's and in A.C. Moore. Most of the afghan patterns that I found were for babies or for small throws. Most of them used single crochets.

I want to make an afghan using DOUBLE CROCHETS that will cover the top of a queen sized bed (approx. 60 inches x 80 inches). Someone emailed me and told me to measure the gauge. Not the info I needed.

What I would love to have is for someone to just tell me:

A. How many chains to chain

B. How to start the first row.

After that, I can figure it out.

Can anyone please help me? I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Jeannie

Hi Heather and all who commented!

My mom taught me to crochet as well. But, I am currently getting my masters, so I have no time for "me" time...such as crocheting..:(

Glad to meet you all on here.

Does anyone have any cute purse ideas? I saw a few, but have not looked in depth yet.

Wish I spoke Spanish. Sorry all who do...

What a wonderful pattern! I had never heard of roundripple before. That's too cute, and it looks simple enough even for the likes of me. :)

Hi!

My mom taught me to crochet when I was in like first grade. I'm in ninth grade now and I haven't stopped yet.

It's a great way to procrastinate from studying or doing homework. :)

I learned how to crochet when I was like ten. then stopped when I was ten. Picked up again last winter (twenty some years later)....and now cannot stop. :-)

I'm not the best with fallowing patterns, so I make up my own, I mostly make little toys and bags.

I want to starting making sweaters...but I am having problems finding patterns I like.

Any one have any cute-light summer sweaters patterns?

Thanks

Josie
